What’s News?
The answer comes easily. Thousands of flowers on the fence. Millions of new leaves. The scent of the air when I walk around the neighbourhood. The busy birds. The pollens. The sneezes. Skin in the sun. Skin back under a puffer coat. The cacophony that is spring.
Years ago, wheeling the pram into my local shop in Northcote, I chatted with the lovely Chinese man who owned it. He commented, “Melbourne has very unstable weather. It makes the people unstable.” I think I can see some truth in that. Each year, when we take the wild long ride that is spring in Melbourne, I notice impacts on my students (and of course on my own body and mind). Those gifted with very stable constitutions seem less impacted, whilst perhaps the light-framed, vata-types seem to suffer seasonal transitions the most.
Whoever you are, wherever you are, I am wishing you steadiness and well-being through this transitional season. May we all be peaceful and at ease in our evolutions and transitions through life.
