More Yoga
Teaching the Mysore yoga program is a primary focus for Amanda, but her teaching draws on a broad range of yoga knowledge and extensive experience working with bodies, practices, and people in all stages of life.
What you will find here are offerings that support exploration and depth, as well as open other pathways into yoga — through small format classes, mentorship and discussion groups, and larger format workshops.

For those who prefer a quieter, more supported practice environment — small format classes bring the depth of individual instruction into a group setting of up to six people.
Classes are one hour, mixed level, and held in a private studio in Thornbury. The small group size means Amanda can offer personal attention and therapeutic guidance throughout — making these classes suitable for people managing injuries, those new to yoga, or anyone who simply thrives with closer support.
Amanda is a Private Health approved provider for classes of this size — receipts available on request.
$40 per class. Two early evening sessions per week — schedule to be announced.
These classes are offered by application. If you're interested, please get in touch and we'll have a brief conversation about whether this is the right fit.

Amanda runs occasional workshops at Mysore Melbourne covering a range of topics — from pranayama and self-care practices to working with specific asanas. These are generally open to any yoga practitioner and announced through the calendar and newsletter.
She also offers a portable half-day workshop — What is Ashtanga Yoga? — designed to demystify traditional Ashtanga practice for yoga practitioners, teachers, and anyone curious about establishing a sustainable personal practice. This workshop is available to bring to your studio or community.
If you're interested in hosting What is Ashtanga Yoga? at your studio or venue, please get in touch.

Personal consultations offer dedicated time to discuss your practice, address obstacles, and explore what supports you as a yoga practitioner.
What we might explore together:
Your current practice and where it wants to go
Working with injury, pain, or physical limitations
Adapting practice for pregnancy, menstruation, postpartum, or parenting young children
Establishing or sustaining a home practice
Balancing practice with life demands — work, family, caregiving
Questions about the Ashtanga tradition or method
Navigating concerns or confusion about Ashtanga's history or current conversations in the community
Addressing barriers — physical, mental, or circumstantial — that keep you from practising
Goal-setting and progression
Anything else arising in relationship to your practice
Session options:
15 minutes — $37.50
30 minutes — $75
60 minutes — $150
Sessions are available in person and online, separate from regular class times.
Full term members and distance students: personal consultations are included in your membership. Book here. If you can’t find a time that suits, get in touch.

Over the years, I've worked closely with a small number of students in ongoing mentorship relationships. These are rich, long-term connections with practitioners who are deeply committed to their practice and want to deepen their understanding of yoga through the lens of teaching Mysore-style Ashtanga.
I'm drawn to working with people who are serious about their own practice first — often those who've completed teacher training and are discovering that teaching raises more questions than it answers. Mentorship isn't about learning a curriculum; it's about developing your capacity to see, to respond, and to hold space for others in their practice.
These relationships unfold differently with different people, shaped by what each person needs and where their questions lead. What they have in common is an established teacher-student relationship built on trust, and a genuine commitment to the work.
If you're interested in individual mentorship, reach out. We'll have a conversation about where you are, what you're working with, and whether this kind of relationship makes sense for both of us.

Occasionally I form a Practitioners Circle — a small cohort of 5–10 practitioners who meet regularly over several months to extend their understanding of yoga. If you'd like to be notified when the next circle forms, get in touch.
